Two Babies

Although I wouldn't trade my girls for the world, I was a very tired mommy. Its hard to have two babies. Anyone with twins will tell you that. Unfortunately, I didn't have twins. At least twins pretty much do everything at the same time. I had one being weaned from the bottle, and one dependent on the bottle. I had one ready for pullups and one in diapers. I had one walking and climbing, and one demanding to be held all the time. Thankfully, I had a great family and lots of help. Scott was a wonderful husband and daddy. Kelsey didn't like to fall asleep for the night until one or two a.m., so Scott would stay up and work until she fell asleep. Then he would come to bed and we would both sleep until the girls woke us up in the morning. There were many times when I would come down to check on them around midnight or one a.m., and find Scott at his computer with Kelsey swaddled in her blankets on his lap.
I am so glad those days are over, but my girls are growing so quickly, and I miss the baby days sometimes.
Not that I want to do them over again, mind you!

I know eZACKLY how you feel. I have three kids and my last two were 18 months apart.

I miss the babies, but I don't miss the overwhelmed, exhausted feelings. I really miss the babies though. I'd have one more if I could

Oh Kendra! Wow!

If it is ANY sort of consolation for you - having them far apart is not that much better - while I have the "help" of the 6 year old, I have to remember everything I tried to forget the first time around - middle of the night visits, weaning, potty training - ugh!

I know you already are...but enjoy every minute you can while they are young. They grow up SO fast!! My oldest is graduating from high school in a couple of weeks. Sometimes it seems like only yesterday that I was holding her (and my 2 boys, also) in my arms like you are holding your babies! :)

Adorable picture btw! :)

They are both so cute! I know many women who feel the same way you do. It's just a motherly instinct I think. I keep saying I want 4 kids, but we will have to see how I handle one or two first. I just love kids:)

What a precious picture.
Your girls are such blessings!
Kids can drain us and tire us, but the joy they bring cannot be measured.
My kids are now 16 and 18. Time goes by, and I wish I could shrink them back into babies and do it over again. I really do!
Enjoy every season with your kids. You will find that at every age, they will still tire you out, but they will also be your treasures always.
