Okay...tonight was my first official workout. Scott and I went to Lifetime, and did an actual workout! I was so excited. Now I am so tired.
The girls had me up every hour last night...with various complaints...so I didn't sleep all that well. (obviously)
I took them to Jungle Java today to try to use up any energy they might have, but that didn't work, either. When naptime rolled around, Merry got up three times in an hour before finally falling asleep. (after she had a spanking, woke up her sister, and had another spanking.)
My nap was non-existent.
So...after working out tonight, I am soooo tired. I'm sure I'll be a little bit sore tomorrow, as well. I'm thinkin' that I'm going to sleep awfully well tonight. IF the little munchkins stay in their beds asleep.
Say a prayer for lil 'ol me, okay?

The Fat is Winning....
I've been having this war with my body...will the fat win, or will I slim down to a size eight THIS year?
Okay, folks, the fat seems to be winning.
I went tonight with my friend, Alissa, to a beginners exercise class...oh my word.
I thought I'd never survive it! I know my thighs alone have to weigh a good ten pounds each! Why am I cursed with this shape and these thighs???
I was sweating and red in the face within the first ten minutes of the hour-long class.
Something has to be done here. I will NOT allow the fat to win! No way!
I may never be a size eight again, but surely I can achieve a size ten! Is that asking too much?
(Don't answer that question...I forbid it.)
So, I will begin to exercise on a regular basis. I will do my best to eat healthy and to refrain from being the couch potato that I tend to be. I will succeed.
And in case you are wondering, SOMEDAY I WILL be a size ten!

A Choir Concert
On March 4th, my vocal coach, Vicki Leninger, will be coming to my church and doing a choir clinic. I am so excited! She will be teaching my choir some much-needed technique and she will be teaching us five or six new songs. The following day, Sunday, March 5th, we will be doing a choir concert with her. I know this is going to be really cool...and all you people who have told me that you will be there on March 5th, don't think I've forgotten about that! I'm expecting to see each and every one of you.
Say a prayer that all goes well, and that God uses our choir for His glory.
Much love,
Kendra

What a Day!
I am ready for the sick-bug to leave our house. My kids are SO crabby...I'm tellin' ya. I feel like I have been in a boxing match with two VERY strong kids! We have had argument after argument...time out after time out...and even a couple spankings thrown in for good measure today.
I am not feeling too well, either...achy, sore throat, runny nose...great. I think I'm catching THE BUG.
Say a prayer, will ya?
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, and Merry will be well enough to go to school and give Mommy a break!
Love to you all.

A Brand New Experience
Today, we had a minor crisis at church. My mom, the piano player, got sick, and was unable to come to church. We have a backup piano player, who isn't always comfortable playing, especially if its on short notice. So...Scott and the Pastor decided to try out something new today.
Scott has written a church music program with the help of a couple of friends, and today was our trial run. We have been talking about introducing this program to our church on Thursday nights. Scott would run the sound, and I would lead the praise and worship. Well...we never quite got it up and running, but today we did!
It was AWESOME. Scott's program rocks...and any of you who need music in your church...here you go. Its not completely perfected, but it is well on its way. We didn't even get a chance to do much practicing. (We used our choir practice hour, and got the choir to back me up today.) I think we stunned our church. They didn't know it was possible to have a rockin' church service with canned music!
I led...for the VERY first time in our main service. Bro. Dave was on the drums and Bro. Donnie on the bass. The choir stood behind me and backed me up. I was so proud of them! And of Scott....he is a genius...and I am NOT kidding you. The guy can dream up the best of programs...and make them work!
Anyway...our service went REALLY REALLY well...and I was so proud of everyone involved. God has been so good to our church...and I am truly thankful.
Just wanted to share my joy. :)
Love to you all.

I Think I'm Goin' Crazy...
My kids are driving me insane. I'm serious. They are both sick, on breathing treatments three times a day, and coughing their heads off. Therefore, they are grouchy, whiny, little things. I understand they are sick, but for cryin' out loud, couldn't they just SIT and cease the fussing????
Poor Scott could barely work today because they were so loud, obnoxious and upset. I finally got them down for a nap, and instead of working for Online Solutions, I took a nap as well.
I am hoping and praying that this virus/asthma thing lets up soon...I'm not sure how much more I can take!
My mom's going to watch them tomorrow evening while Scott and I go to the Melting Pot with some friends...thank you, Mom!!!!
Say a prayer for us and our munchkins, please.

My Very Wonderful Husband....
I have a very wonderful husband. I praise him all the time to my friends and family.
I think he's practically perfect...almost. :)
He always treats me with respect and loves me to pieces.
He's a great daddy and a very good son-in-law.
He works very hard and very LONG hours sometimes. (but that means that he's not lazy, right?)
He took me to Orlando with him for three days this week. (I sorta talked him into it...but he was happy to take me.)
We left Sunday night and arrived in Orlando around midnight. It was COLD, PEOPLE!!! I mean, shivering, teeth-chattering, finger-numbing cold! Come to find out...Orlando had a cold snap scheduled for our mini-vacation/business trip. Great. It was about 35 degrees when we arrived...the next day, I THINK it got up to 50...Monday night it went down to 29 degrees, folks!!! I have NEVER been a huge fan of Florida...but come on! I was lookin' forward to nice, spring-like weather...maybe be able to go without a jacket...you know. We had to go comb the city for a winter coat for me. I have NO idea why we always have to buy me a jacket...EVERY trip we take. I don't think there have been any exceptions...I'm serious. I always forget my jacket, think I don't need it, misplace it...SOMETHING.
Okay...enough about the cold...let's move on to the hotel.
We stayed in the DoubleTree at the Entrance of Universal Studios. It is a VERY NICE hotel.
We arrived there around one a.m. Monday. I was starving...I hadn't eaten since five on Sunday evening, and I wanted something to eat. Of course, everything was closed in Orlando...no Taco Bell to be found, so I figured I would settle for some cookies or chips from a vending machine. Guess what??? DoubleTree has NO snack machines. Not a one. They managed to dig up a cookie for me...and sent me off to my room.
When we got in our room, we discovered that the maid hadn't been very thorough. The former occupant's stirfry was still in the tv cabinet...and the ice bucket had dirty melted ice in it. Wow...okay.
So we call front desk and they move us to another room. It is now 2a.m. and I am ready for bed. I fall into my bed, exhausted and sleep in while Scott goes to some seminars in the morning.
I wake up, ravenous...and head down to find some breakfast...eat a bagel and part of a danish and go to find Scott. He's still in seminars so...I go back to the room, watch daytime tv, and wait.
I join Scott around one for some more seminars, then go up to my room for a brief nap. Around five, we decide to go hunt down some food.
Now, Orlando is NOT a small city. We talked to the concierge...who was NOT helpful, and went in search of this GREAT restaurant that he recommended. He assured us that we would get express seating with this special card he gave us. We gave our car keys to the valet, and went inside. It was a "reservation-only" place...and they couldn't seat us for an hour and a half. Okay...so we tried another place that the guy told us about...no luck there...an hour wait. We finally went to Universal CityWalk...a place with seven restaurants and some shops. We went to the first place...sorry...we are having a private party tonight...and don't try HardRock Cafe, because they are having a private party, too. Okay...so we go to Emeril's...yes...the tv chef...and No...they can't seat us until ten that evening...try the next place over..nope...sorry...we can't seat you either...try such and such...nope...private party. It is now seven-thirty...and I am starving again.
We went into a shop and got the girls a little gift and headed back to the hotel for room service.
It took room service over an hour to get us our steaks!!!!! I was so mad.
I ate almost every bite..PLUS dessert...and enjoyed a movie...
The next day was almost the same as the first...except that it was Valentine's Day...and we didn't have reservations for that evening! Scott went and talked to another conceirge, who called about 15 restaurants for us before finding one that could take us.
We went to lunch and a bookstore and then I went up for another nap, while Scott was in another seminar. I got to our room, and we had NO water. LOL...this hotel was a TRIP!!! The water was off for about three hours. Fortunately it came on before we went out, and I was able to freshen up and brush my teeth.
We went out and had a very nice dinner at a Japanese Hibachi steakhouse. Then we went to another bookstore, played a round of golf and went back to our room to watch a movie. I discovered that the maid had made our beds, but hadn't left us any clean towels...however, she removed the dirty ones, so we were left without any towels. We called for clean towels. Forty-five minutes and three calls later, someone FINALLY brought us some towels!!! I have never been so angry in my life! I ended up going to bed at midnight instead of eleven because some housekeeper couldn't find time to bring me up some towels!
My wonderful husband was VERY patient with my ranting and raving...and we had a great time. But we have both decided that we hate Orlando...with a passion!
Our Valentine's getaway was anything but dull, and I love my man more than ever. All you single gals out there, LOOK FOR SOMEONE LIKE SCOTT! I am totally serious.
p.s. And I discovered that he STILL LOOKS REALLY HOT IN A TUX!

A PlayDate
Yesterday we went and met Aunt Lauren (Mommy's VERY GOOD friend) and Noah for a playdate at 12 Oaks Mall.
We had a wonderful time, and Aunt Lauren took some great pictures of the kiddos...and one of Mommy and Merry and Kelsey.
Merry and Kelsey definitly want to play with Noah again! He's so cute!
Thanks, Aunt Lauren, for the pictures and a fun day!
We love you,
Merry, Kelsey and their Mommy

Too Busy to Get Healthy
I am tellin' ya what! My life has been so hectic the past three months, that I am too busy to get healthy! I have attempted to start exercising on my own...also...I have attempted to start eating more healthy, but our lives are so busy, that half the time I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, looking for something I've lost!
Scott and I finally took the plunge and signed up for Lifetime Fitness. Now we have the ability to go work out, and swim, and put our kids in the daycare there if we want. The only problem is this: We signed up on Monday and haven't been back since!
Its amazing how crazy your life can get. With Merry in school, Tuesdays and Thursdays get eaten alive and we have church on Thursday evening.
Mondays and Wednesdays will hopefully slow down enough for me to get in a morning workout. I have voice lessons on Wednesday afternoons so those are out, and if we do any entertaining, its usually on Wednesday or Friday evenings.
So...I am going to have to rearrange my lifestyle to include working out. I certainly can't go on like this any longer!
On a brighter note: Today the girls and I met Lauren at 12Oaks Mall for a playdate/lunchdate. We had a wonderful time! Noah was such a sweetheart, and Lauren is the nicest girl alive, as far as I'm concerned! We had a marvelous time, and we are definitly going to do that again! Thanks, Lauren, for meeting us today, and for being such an awesome friend! I love you! :)

FINALLY! AUDIO POSTS!
Okay, everyone. I finally got my song "Solo El Amor" into an mp3 file that you can download. Hope you enjoy listening to it. There is a 1mb version and a 4mb version.
Kendra's Song (1mb)
Kendra's Song (4mb)
Also, here is an audio post of my "baby" Zach Dunning singing at the same recital. I babysat him from the time he was newborn up until a few years ago. He's now 17 years old, and sings like you will NOT believe! For those of you who don't know who he is, he is the son of Joel and Cherie Dunning.
Enjoy!
